Analysis of Commercial Economic Damages

The techniques for analysis of economic damages in commercial litigation vary widely depending on the facts of the case. RPC provides the litigator with a team of experts in economics, statistics, accounting, and financial analysis that can design and execute an effective damages analysis for the facts and the law of the case. The most effective damages analysis for a case may require only simple calculations or it may require complex economic and financial modeling. It could also require multiple regression analysis or other statistical techniques.

RPC’s professionals have the training and experience to understand the facts and the law of the case, select the appropriate analytical techniques for the available data, and carefully execute the analysis. All  is thoroughly documented to evidentiary standards. Finally, we work closely with the attorney to assure our methods and findings are communicated clearly to the judge and jury through expert witness testimony and supporting documentation. Our commercial economic damages analyses have been requested in connection with the following:

  • Business interruption
  • Professional and management negligence
  • Toxic torts
  • Tortious interference
  • Breach of contract
  • Employment discrimination
  • Deceptive trade practices
  • Unfair competition
  • Fraud and libel
